To reach Rotumba Budugala Vihara, one has to proceed on the Matara-Urubokka Road, turn off at Pasgoda Junction and proceed another 7 km. This vihara is situated in the Pasgoda Divisional Secretariat Division.

A recumbent Buddha statue of 18 cubits is in the image house of this cave temple. The Brahmi inscription found in the vihara premises bears testimony for the vihara to be an ancient site.
