This Hindu temple which had been built in honour of God Pillayar is considered to be about two hundred and fifty years old. The building, which is of recent construction, contains a statuette of God Pillayar, said to have been brought from India some 250 years ago. The temple is not only sacred to the Tamils but for the Sinhalese and the Muslims as well.
